230360 Textbook and Teaching Material: Focus on Sek II (S) (WiSe 2018/2019)

Contents, comment

Textbooks, such as the ones published by Cornelsen (Context), by Schöningh (Pathway), by Diesterweg (Camden Town - Oberstufe) or by Klett (Green Line Oberstufe), are the most common material to be used by pupils and students alike, despite a digitally enhanced classroom, and despite the many electronic augmentations provided by the publishers for the same "Learning systems".
In this class, we will take a close look at exemplary task formats designed by different publishers for Sek II. We will critically assess these books, their concepts, and their tasks-designs. Finally we will see where it makes sense to turn away from the textbook, and to include either self-fashioned material, or to exploit other offers provided by the publishers in addition to the textbooks.
