392267 ISY Project: Emotional feedback of virtual agents based on the power consumption in Smart Homes (Pj) (SoSe 2019)

The goal of this project is to create a virtual agent that produces persuasive emotional feedback in order to reduce energy consumption in our intelligent apartment (http://aiweb.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de/content/CSRA). As communication partner our virtual agent Floka will be used. The resulting system should be able to generate emotional feedback for the user based on an intelligent agent architectures, e.g., belief-desire-intention architecture, goal-based-intelligent agents. Additionally a test GUI should be implemented to simulate energy consuption in the intelligent apartment.

Please note that the teams will be selected by the supervisors on the basis of short applications that students are expected to send to them. Registering to the project in the ekVV will only be regarded as expression of interest; it will not secure a team membership. Please get in touch with the supervisors for information on the application procedure.

Requirements for participation, required level

Required skills (e.g. mandatory courses, if required)

  • Willingness to familiarize oneself with the used middleware RSB ("Robotics Service Bus") and ROS.
  • Willingness to familiarize with persuasive technologies and intelligent agent architectures
  • The programming should be done in C#
