230727 Englisch: English Grammar for Writing (S) (SoSe 2023)

Contents, comment

This course will focus on grammatical structures that are crucial for clear, precise, high-level academic writing in English. We will focus on things like writing in different tenses, the active vs. the passive voice, using adjective and adverb clauses, writing with sentence variety, and so on.

This course is open to all levels, but a minimum of a strong B1 is recommended.

NOTE: A c-test (placement test) result is not required for this course.

Students will have a short weekly writing assignment, utilizing the skills discusssed in class. You must complete 10 of the 13 assignments to pass the course.

A final exam will be given at the end of the semester. A minimum score of 60% is required to pass the course.
