Der fragmentrisch erhaltene Roman des Petron bietet einen interessanten Einblick in die Welt des "anderen" antiken Romans: Petron läßt zwei männliche Protagonisten zusammen (oder auch nicht) Abenteuer erleben. Eines davon ist das bekannte Gastmahl des Trimalchio, dem wir uns u.a. widmen werden.
Im Seminar wollen wir untersuchen, welches Bild der römischen Privat-Gesellschaft Petron entstehen läßt und wie er die Gattung 'Roman' interpretiert.

Bibliography

Texte, Kommentare und Übersetzungen werden im Semesterapparat/ Lernraum bereitgestellt.

Als Textgrundlage gilt die Teubner-Ausgabe von Konrad Müller.
