Das Seminar vermittelt einen Einblick in die Geschichte der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur (KJL) nach 1945, die Teil der Geschichte der Gegenwartsliteratur ist. Ziel des Seminars soll es sein, zentrale Aspekte literatur- und kulturhistorischen Verstehens am Beispiel ausgewählter Kinder- und Jugendbücher herauszuarbeiten. Deutlich werden soll die kinder- und jugendliterarische Entwicklung mit Blick auf Gattungsfragen, Narrationen, Themen/ Motive oder auch Kindheits- und Familienbilder.
Für den Erfolg des Seminars ist die Kenntnis einiger Primärtexte wichtig. Eine Liste der zu lesenden Literatur wird spätestens in der ersten Seminarsitzung bekanntgegeben.
Ein digitaler Semesterapparat mit grundlegender Forschungsliteratur zu den Inhalten des Seminars wird im Lernraum zur Verfügung gestellt; weitere Forschungsliteratur, die in der Bibliothek eingesehen werden muss, wird ebenfalls aufgelistet.
