Die Bewertung von Fließgewässern anhand bestimmter chemisch-physikalischer Wasserparameter, der Habitatstruktur und Zeigerorganismen (Indikatororganismen) spielt eine wichtige Rolle im Bereich der Ökologie und Ökotoxikologie. Im Rahmen dieses Spezialmoduls wollen wir den Zustand verschiedener Bäche in Bielefeld untersuchen. Dabei kommen standardisierte Verfahren zum Einsatz, wie sie beispielsweise auch von Umweltbüros genutzt werden um die Einhaltung der Wasserrahmenrichtlinie (WRRL) zu überprüfen:
• Einteilung von Gewässerabschnitten anhand der Morphometrie und Habitatstruktur
• Sondenmessungen zu Ermittlung von pH, Leitfähigkeit, Sauerstoff etc.
• Wasseranalytik im Labor zur Bestimmung von Nitrat, Phosphat, organischem Material und Chlorophyll a
• Ermittlung der Gewässergüte anhand von Zeigerorganismen gemäß Perlodes
Während des Kurses wechseln sich Freiland-Beprobungen am Bach, Laborarbeit, ausführliche Organismenbestimmung und Auswertungen mit der Bewertungssoftware ASTERICS ab. Ziel ist es für jeden untersuchten Standort ein entsprechendes Gutachten zu verfassen.
