Die Bedeutsamkeit des Vorlesens für den Anstoß literarischer Lernprozesse und für die Stabilisierung des Selbstlesens ist inzwischen aus verschiedenen Forschungsperspektiven belegt worden. In Vorlesegesprächen wird das Vorlesen darüber hinaus in einen Kommunikationskontext eingebettet, der u.a. auch soziales und philosophisches Lernen zu aktivieren vermag. In besonderem Maße sind dazu Bilderbücher geeignet, die als Medienkombination Bild und Text zusammenführen und auf dieser Basis verschiedene Gesprächsanlässe bieten. Dass hierbei die genaue Bildbetrachtung von zentraler Bedeutung ist, führt zu Überlegungen, wie die Bildliteralität von Kindern im Gespräch angebahnt bzw. vertieft werden kann. In der Veranstaltung werden zunächst die damit verbundenen theoretischen Grundlagen erarbeitet, um schließlich die Gestaltung von Bild- und Bilderbuchgesprächen differenziert in den Blick nehmen zu können. Alle Seminarteilnehmer*innen werden schließlich ein Gespräch zu einem Einzelbild und zu einem Bilderbuch vorbereiten (Studienleistung), dessen Durchführung in der Schule als Grundlage für eine Hausarbeit genutzt werden kann.
