In dieser Veranstaltung erhalten die Teilnehmenden einen Einblick in verschiedene Forschungsbereiche der Wirtschaftswissenschaften. Neben einer Einführung in das Lesen und Verstehen wissenschaftlicher Veröffentlichungen beinhaltet das Seminar eine Vorstellung aktueller Forschungsinhalte und -ergebnisse, vorrangig aus VWL-Forschungsgebieten wie den Environmental, Inequality, Institutional Economics oder Political Economics. Die Teilnehmenden lernen, diese Ergebnisse in den Kontext aktueller Geschehnisse einzuordnen und sie zu diskutieren. Als Studienleistung ist eine Kurzpräsentation am Ende des Semesters vorgesehen. Der Kurs wird in deutsch abgehalten, grundlegende Englischkenntnisse sind für das Lesen der Forschungsartikel jedoch empfehlenswert.
