Die Fakultät für Erziehungswissenschaft gestaltet in den lehramtsbezogenen Studiengängen die Bildungswissenschaften. Die Bachelor-Studiengangsvarianten Bildungswissenschaften in ihren verschiedenen Spezifikationen bilden den ersten Teil der akademischen Ausbildung, der in einem konsekutiven Bachelor-/Masterstudienprogramm auf den Master of Education vorbereitet.

Die verschiedenen Studiengangsvarianten sind darauf ausgerichtet, sich mit Bildungs- und Erziehungsprozessen, sowie mit Bildungssystemen und deren Rahmenbedingungen auseinanderzusetzen. Auch wenn die Studiengangsvarianten auf die schulformspezifischen Master of Education-Studiengänge hinführen sollen, so beziehen sich die Studieninhalte des Bachelors nicht nur auf das Berufsfeld Schule, sondern auch auf andere pädagogische Berufsfelder. Insgesamt fußen die verschiedenen Studiengangsvarianten auf einer breiten fachlichen Basis.

Die Studiengangsvariante Bachelor Bildungswissenschaften - Lehramt an Gymnasien und Gesamtschulen richtet sich an Studierende mit dem Qualifikationsziel Lehramt an Gymnasien und Gesamtschulen.

In der fachlichen Basis setzen sich die Studierenden mit den theoretischen Grundlagen von Bildung, Erziehung und Sozialisation auseinander, deren Ziele kritisch reflektiert werden können. Dazu gehören Bildungs-, Sozialisations-, Erziehungs-, Gesellschafts- und Sozialtheorien, ebenso wie Veranstaltungen zu Forschungsmethoden und zu Psychologie in der Schule. Darüber hinaus werden didaktische Theorien und Modelle sowie verschiedene Unterrichtsformen ebenso wie ihr Einsatz vermittelt. Mit ihrer Rolle als Lehrer_in setzen sich die Studierenden nicht nur theoretisch, sondern auch im Rahmen des Orientierungspraktikums und der Berufsfeldbezogenen Praxisstudie auseinander.

In der Berufsfeldbezogenen Praxisstudie werden darüber hinaus Konzepte, Theorien und Methoden zu Erziehen und Unterrichten vermittelt.

Course start

Studies can be commenced in both winter and summer semesters. Courses are targeted to commencing studies in winter semester. Student counselling to plan the course of studies is recommended.

Length and scope of studies

The standard period of studies is 6 semesters.

The studies Educational Sciences (Advanced Secondary and Comprehensive Schools ('Gymnasium' and 'Gesamtschule')) Educational Sciences comprise 30 credit points.

Access requirements

Access to the Bachelor programme is granted to those who have a university entrance qualification suitable for Germany (e. g. German ‘Abitur’).

Special conditions apply to applicants with a foreign certificate of education.

Likewise, special conditions apply to those qualified in vocational education and training.

Application, admission and enrolment ¹

The study places are subject to local admission restrictions (numerus clausus). You need to apply within the currently applicable application deadlines.

As soon as you receive a positive response in the application and status portal (admission notice from the Student Office after the expiration of the application deadline and the main allocation or second allocation (‘Nachrückverfahren’) procedures), you can submit your application for enrolment within the set deadline. If you are already enrolled at Bielefeld University, you need to apply for a change of degree programme. After the deadline expires, the study place will be allocated further.

Please note that Education Sciences is always a compulsory component of a degree programme with a teaching option (see study structure model) and therefore necessarily requires an application for a study place.
