Die Wirtschaftswissenschaft beschäftigt sich mit der Untersuchung des wirtschaftlichen Handelns von Unternehmen sowie Gesellschaften. Sie vereint die beiden klassischen Disziplinen der Betriebswirtschaftslehre sowie Volkswirtschaftslehre. Im Bachelor erarbeiten Sie sowohl Kompetenzen im Sinne von umfassendem, fachspezifischen Wissen als auch Methodenkompetenzen, die zur Lösung wirtschaftswissenschaftlicher Problemstellungen angewandt werden. Daneben spielt der Erwerb von Sozial- und Wertekompetenz eine bedeutsame Rolle. Die Universität Bielefeld verfolgt dabei eine quantitativ-methodische Ausrichtung in der Lehre.

Ein wichtiges Studienziel ist dabei das Erlangen einer allgemeinen Berufsfähigkeit für vielfältige wirtschaftliche Tätigkeitsfelder. Der moderne Arbeitsmarkt verlangt eine Flexibilität, die nur durch eine fundierte, breite Basis erzielt werden kann. Darauf aufbauend haben Sie die Möglichkeit einer individuellen Spezialisierung anhand eines Profilmoduls.

Das Kernfach Wirtschaftswissenschaften bietet Ihnen eine breite wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Grundausbildung sowie die Möglichkeit, sich durch das individuell gewählte Nebenfach auch über Fachgrenzen hinaus zu spezialisieren. Im Rahmen der individuellen und strukturierten Ergänzung haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihr Ausbildungsprofil zu individualisieren. Hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit eine Verknüpfung zwischen wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Inhalten und dem gewählten Nebenfach herzustellen.

Length and scope of studies

The standard period of studies is 6 semesters.

The studies Major Subject (Academic) Business Administration and Economics comprise 120 credit points.

Access requirements

Access to the Bachelor programme is granted to those who have a university entrance qualification suitable for Germany (e. g. German ‘Abitur’).

Special conditions apply to applicants with a foreign certificate of education.

Likewise, special conditions apply to those qualified in vocational education and training.

Application, admission and enrolment ¹

The study places are subject to local admission restrictions (numerus clausus). You need to apply within the currently applicable application deadlines.

As soon as you receive a positive response in the application and status portal (admission notice from the Student Office after the expiration of the application deadline and the main allocation or second allocation (‘Nachrückverfahren’) procedures), you can submit your application for enrolment within the set deadline. If you are already enrolled at Bielefeld University, you need to apply for a change of degree programme. After the deadline expires, the study place will be allocated further.
