Ohne den Pollenübertragungs-Service blütenbesuchender Tiere könnten die meisten Blütenpflanzen nicht reproduzieren. Umgekehrt sind viele Tiere auf Ressourcen angewiesen, welche ihnen die Pflanzen nur durch Blüten zur Verfügung stellen. In diesem Modul werden einleitend die gegenseitigen Anpassungen von Blütenpflanzen und blütenbesuchenden Tieren untersucht (morphologische Besonderheiten von Blüten; Blühphänologie und Nektarproduktionsmuster; Pollenstrukturen; Mundwerkzeuge von Insekten, speziell Bienen, Nahrungssammelstrategien, u.a.). Darüber hinaus sollen in Kleingruppen Freilanduntersuchungen zu speziellen ökologischen oder evolutionsökologischen Fragestellungen durchgeführt werden (z.B. Bestäuberdiversitäten im Vergleich, Bestäubungseffektivität von Blütenbesuchern, Dichteabhängigkeit pflanzlicher Reproduktion, Suchverhalten von Bestäubern, Auswirkungen von Blütenressourcen und Anlockungsparametern der Pflanzen auf deren Reproduktion und auf tierisches Verhalten, u.a.).
