FsB vom 30.09.2016 mit Änderung vom 10.12.2024
Dieser Eintrag basiert auf den Fächerspezifischen Bestimmungen (FsB) für das Fach Mathematik vom 30.09.2016 mit Änderung vom 10.12.2024.
Diese FsB gelten für alle Studierenden, die sich ab dem Wintersemester 2016/2017 und bis einschließlich Sommersemester 2025 für einen Bachelorstudiengang mit dem Fach Mathematik an der Universität Bielefeld eingeschrieben haben und dieses Fach bis zum Ende des Wintersemesters 2028/2029 abschließen.
Mit Beginn des Sommersemesters 2029 gelten auch für diese Studierenden die Fächerspezifischen Bestimmungen vom 28.02.2025.
Hinweis: Alle Studierenden, die nicht nach den aktuellen FsB studieren, können vor dem oben genannten Zeitraum gemäß der Bestimmungen in Ziffer 10 (3) der Fächerspezifischen Bestimmungen vom 28.02.2025 nach diesen neuen Bestimmungen studieren, wenn sie einen entsprechenden Antrag stellen. Sollten die Studierenden diese Möglichkeit nicht nutzen, werden sie ab dem oben genannten Semester in die neuen FsB ohne Antrag überführt.
Die Fakultät für Mathematik besteht seit der Gründung der Universität in Bielefeld. Als große eigenständige Fakultät repräsentiert sie sowohl in der Lehre als auch in der Forschung ein breites Spektrum der Mathematik. Das ermöglicht ein breit gefächertes Lehrangebot für alle Studiengangsvarianten. Sowohl den Interessen der vor allem an der Forschung orientierten, als auch derjenigen Studierenden, die sich mehr an der Berufswirklichkeit in Wirtschaft, Verwaltung und Schule ausrichten, wird Rechnung getragen. Eine wesentliche Grundlage für eine gute Ausbildung ist eine individuelle Betreuung, die genügend Raum für fachliche Diskussionen und Fragen lässt.
Diese wird unter anderem durch viele studentische Hilfskräfte gewährleistet, die die Übungen zu den Vorlesungen betreuen, so dass kleine Übungsgruppen die Regel sind.
In der internationalen Forschungslandschaft genießt die Bielefelder Fakultät für Mathematik einen hervorragenden Ruf. Viele internationale Kooperationen und die hohe Anzahl Mathematikerinnen und Mathematiker, die Bielefeld für einen Forschungsaufenthalt auswählen, sind hierfür ein Beleg. Das besondere Profil und die ausgewiesene Stärke der Fakultät in der Forschung ermöglichen eine Vielzahl von Spezialisierungsmöglichkeiten im Masterstudium. Zudem bietet sich ein attraktives Forschungsumfeld, in dem schon frühzeitig die Faszination der Forschung in wissenschaftlicher Zusammenarbeit erlebt werden kann.

Access to the Bachelor programme is granted to those who have a university entrance qualification suitable for Germany (e. g. German ‘Abitur’).

The study places are not subject to any admission restrictions (numerus clausus). Nevertheless, you need to apply within the currently applicable application deadlines. Afterwards, however, you can submit your application for enrolment directly in the application and status portal, provided that you meet the access requirements.
