Mathematics is a very old and traditional science and is also so important for our future. Whether IT, artificial intelligence, Data Science, Finance or natural sciences in general - no future technology can do without mathematics. Mathematicians are therefore in high demand on the labour market. They are needed, for example, as data scientists or analysts, as actuaries for insurance companies or banks, or as IT consultants for AI applications to tackle the challenges of modern society.

As part of a mathematics degree, you will learn to recognise and analyse structures, model facts and solve problems, even those where visualisation fails. You are therefore perfectly trained to develop answers to the big (future) questions.
In the first year of the Bachelor's degree programme, you will be introduced to the working methods of university mathematics. With these skills, you can then study individual mathematical disciplines in depth in order to prepare yourself for a wide range of specialisation options. Learning and working together is very important in a maths degree programme. You work very closely together in teams and are also individually supervised by students from higher semesters (tutors) in tutorials accompanying the lectures.
