The aim of the Bachelor's degree programme is to provide an application-oriented computer science education with special basic qualifications and focus on its use in the natural science subjects of biology, chemistry and physics.
The findings and methods of computer science are an integral part of modern societies and have found their way into all areas of modern life and in particular into the natural sciences, whether for planning or carrying out experiments, recording or analysing scientific measurement data or communicating and presenting it. In order to meet the continuing high demand for computer scientists who are able to design and implement computer science applications in the field of scientific research and related industries, the Faculty of Technology offers a Bachelor's degree programme in Informatics for the Natural Sciences.
After completing the degree programme, graduates should be able to apply basic methods and approaches of computer science and natural sciences and transfer them to new areas and contribute to scientifically oriented model and software development. The qualifications also offer the best opportunities on the normal, usually application-oriented labour market for computer scientists, as the graduates have already transcended the boundaries of the pure discipline of computer science during their studies due to the scientific orientation.
