The job market increasingly demands university graduates who have interdisciplinary skills. The Bachelor's programme Law and Management, which is offered by the Faculty of Law in cooperation with the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, imparts interdisciplinary legal and complementary economic knowledge. If you are primarily interested in legal issues and would also like to acquire organisational and management skills, this degree programme is the right choice for you.

You can obtain a Bachelor degree in this degree programme, which prepares you for employment in fields of work in which legal competence with an understanding of economics is required, e.g. in companies, trade unions, associations, administrations, etc. Of course, the state examination in law remains the prerequisite for employment in the legal profession and the judiciary. However, students may combine the degree programme State Examination in law and the Bachelor degree programme Law and Management. Such students can acquire an interesting additional qualification for a promising career in law and business e.g. as an in-house lawyer or in law firms focusing on the commercial and corporate law. Students can receive credit for many study achievements optioned in the state examination programme for the bachelor degree programme. The focus of the Bachelor degree programme is on legal content, so that at least in Bielefeld, a Master's degree in economics cannot be added.

Thanks to the sound legal training you will receive in the Bachelor degree programme Law and Management, you will be able to prepare facts and issues in a structured manner and solve legal cases using legal methods. This skills you learn in the programme also enable you to familiarise yourself with unfamiliar subjects, e.g. business law. In addition, you will be familiarised with the basic questions and methods of business administration and economics. Graduates of the Bachelor degree programme Law and Management can thus act as mediators between lawyers and economists.

The faculty offers a special advisory service for all questions you may have as a student in the initial phase or in advanced studies. Bielefeld University has a very well-equipped library (presence and online media) with convenient opening hours; this enables you to study flexibly.
