Interdisciplinary education
The degree programme offers a sound education that integrates elements of the natural sciences and social sciences. Students acquire subject-related competences that help them to understand and apply the subject-specific significance of the disciplines involved.

Practical teaching and learning processes
As part of their studies, students learn to develop and plan teaching and learning processes for Integrated Studies for Primary Education [Centre for teaching and learning]. This takes place in an exchange with teaching staff and fellow students, which promotes and reflects the practical implementation of the content learnt.

Interdisciplinary didactics
The degree programme attaches great importance to the didactically independent and interdisciplinary preparation of content. This approach enables students to consider a variety of perspectives in Integrated Studies for Primary Education ("Sachunterricht") and promotes comprehensive educational work.

Development of key competences
Students not only acquire specialised knowledge, but also important key skills that are essential for pedagogical work. These include the ability to plan, reflect on and evaluate educational processes, which are of great importance for work in the primary school sector.

Preparation for the teaching profession
The degree programme qualifies graduates to teach at primary schools and provides a solid foundation for a subsequent master's course. This structure ensures preparation for the challenges of the teaching profession and opens up a wide range of career prospects.
There are particularly good job prospects in primary schools, secondary schools, comprehensive schools, and elementary schools, as well as in integrated special education. There is also a high demand for teachers in STEM subjects (with the exception of biology). Nevertheless, it is important to keep in mind that you will be teaching this material for a long time. You should therefore be interested in what you teach and study subjects that you are passionate about.Considering the age of the students in the respective school types is also helpful when making this decision.
