The bachelor's degree program in art in combination with the Master of Education qualifies students for the teaching profession at elementary schools. Within the framework of the workshops and studios offered, students acquire creative skills and, on the basis of artistic ways of thinking and acting, are enabled to transfer subject-specific scientific knowledge and subject-specific didactic concepts into well-founded art pedagogical action.
The structure of the program enables students to build up the necessary competencies in the areas of art practice, art studies and art didactics and to gradually link them with each other in the course of their studies. Some courses have an interdisciplinary orientation and do justice to the interdisciplinary work in elementary school as well as to aesthetic-artistic learning in the context of cultural education.
The completed bachelor's degree is usually followed by a master's degree in a teaching-related program leading to a Master of Education or an artistic-scientific program leading to a Master of Arts (e.g. master's degree in "Cultural Education").
Applicants who wish to study art education as part of a teaching degree program are enthusiastic about diverse forms of art expression, are interested in teaching art as part of children's aesthetic educational processes, and bring with them creative skills and basic knowledge of art history, which they demonstrate in an aptitude test.
You will find the programme of lectures for this course in the eKVV.
