The One Core Subject bachelor's degree in Psychology concludes with the academic degree Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). Within the bachelor, either the profile "Psychology" or the profile "Psychotherapy" can be studied.
The study program deals with psychology as an empirical science. Accordingly, basic statistical and methodological skills are taught at the beginning of the program as a basis for scientific work, as well as content-related skills such as the visual and auditory perception of humans, emotion and personality theories, and much more.
In the further course of their studies, our students can choose from four applied subjects (Clinical Psychology of Children, Adolescents and Adults, Educational Psychology, Organizational and Applied Social Psychology, Neuroscience) to focus on their first areas of interest with a view to accessing specific professional fields.
Within the internship, students have the opportunity to gain initial experience in various professional fields.
The B.Sc. program in Psychology (Psychotherapy Profile) has professional recognition in accordance with the Psychotherapists Act and the Approbation Regulations for Psychotherapists. Thus, qualification for a master's degree program in Psychotherapy is possible, which can end with the licensing examination. Such a master's program (Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy) is starting in winter semester 2022/23. Furthermore, the B.Sc. degree programme in Psychology has been awarded the quality seal for psychological Bachelor courses at German universities by the German Psychological Society (DGPs).
