In the language module, students learn a new language or expand their skills in a language they have already learnt. The language courses teach them the ability to grasp the information and argumentation structures of complex second language texts in terms of content and language in a targeted manner. Language acquisition, multilingualism and the ability to adopt intercultural perspectives are part of General and Comparative Literature and help students to reflect on texts and cultural phenomena and objects from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

The necessary entry requirements for the respective modules offered by the Fachsprachenzentrum [Language Centre] must be observed.
Students must take up to two modules – which they have not yet studied – totalling 10 LP from the range offered by the Fachsprachenzentrum [Language Centre], including the corresponding examinations and coursework.
