Competencies

After completing the module, you will be able to review the success of the training process across various areas of athletic movement using regular performance assessments and, if necessary, optimize it. You will independently acquire theoretical knowledge of complex methods for endurance performance diagnostics, as well as mobility and strength diagnostics. You will be able to apply these methods in practice, identify and evaluate potential deficiencies in the methods used. You will be able to use the relevant diagnostic tools for the technomotor aspect of athletic movements and make scientifically sound decisions for intervention strategies in technical training.

Content of teaching

You will expand your knowledge of the diagnostics and management of conditioning and technomotor-skill-oriented performance requirements of athletic movements in competitive and recreational sports. You will specifically and independently deepen your theoretical and practical knowledge of relevant performance diagnostic methods. The focus is on diagnostic procedures for the main motor stress forms of strength, speed, endurance (e.g. treadmill and bicycle ergometry, lactate performance diagnostics, respiratory gas analyses) or procedures for controlling technical training (e.g. biomechanical technical analyses, analyses of decision-making behaviour in sports games).

Recommended previous knowledge

Basic knowledge of performance physiology and the principles of organising motor learning processes.

The coursework serves to practise a reflective and discursive attitude towards the topics covered in the course and has a practising and deepening character with regard to the competences anchored in the module. Coursework is the presentation, implementation and evaluation of study designs and performance diagnostic test procedures. The following applies to all contributions: Students may be required to submit written contributions totalling a maximum of 2400 words or oral contributions totalling a maximum of 50-60 minutes in one course.
