For information on the duration of the modul, refer to the courses of study in which the module is used.
In this module, you will acquire basic skills for the diversity-sensitive design and instruction of movement, play and sport situations in different groups (both age- and gender-homogeneous and -heterogeneous groups) under the conditions of school sport. You will gain new movement experiences and expand and improve your movement repertoire. In addition, you will broaden and deepen your knowledge of various fields of movement. You will acquire the skills - including the use of digital tools - to instruct movement processes, analyse error patterns, make movement corrections and evaluate performance. Finally, you will be able to critically reflect on and apply various teaching models with regard to different objectives and target groups.
The examination of sports practice generally includes four elements: a practical and a practical teaching examination, the examination of theoretical competences in the form of seven short examinations from the compulsory practical courses taken in the module as well as the examination of sports motor competences in the "sports motor propaedeutic course".
In the practical teaching examination, you will demonstrate in-depth competences in the area of "Teaching" using the content of one of the practical courses taken in the module as an example. The examinations take place in the course "Teaching-related competences in specialist practice".
In the practical examination, you will demonstrate in-depth competences in the area of "Sports motor skills" in an exemplary course of the module.
In the theory examinations, you will demonstrate in-depth competences in the area of specific "knowledge" for the individual designated sports and movement fields by combining subject-specific and didactic components.
The areas of sport and movement fields are as follows:
01 Body awareness and psychomotor skills
02 Playing and games
03 Running, jumping, throwing - athletics
04 Movement in the water - swimming
05 Movement on and with equipment - gymnastics
06 Designing, dancing, performing - gymnastics/dance
07 Training in school sports
08 Wrestling and fighting
09 Natural sports / gliding, driving, rolling (not in this module)
10 Health-orientated practice/ fitness sport
In the course "Designing, dancing, performing - gymnastics/dance" you will learn about the different ways in which movement and music relate to each other and receive an introduction to the principles of movement design, including the basic forms of movement. On the basis of music theory, the parameters of metre, beat, rhythm and melody are discussed both acoustically and in movement.
The basic course "Movement games/team games" (playing and games) deals with the basic structures of sports and movement games and the didactic principles of acquiring general playing skills. The focus is on didactic and methodological considerations for game education in school sports lessons (e.g. various game didactic and methodological concepts, processes of "regulating" movement games, teaching cross-game skills and abilities). Selected examples from the following game categories will be presented: Running, catching and kicking games, small team games and simplified forms of "classic" team games with balls or other equipment, as well as games with everyday materials, rediscovered "old games" and games from other cultures.
The subject areas of the "Training in school sport" event are made up of skills training on the one hand and the improvement of basic skills on the other. On the skills side, the topics of endurance, strength, speed, agility and coordination training are covered. The focus here is on the systematic training structure, taking into account individual load control based on the theoretical principles of sports medicine and training science. Basic skills, such as catching and throwing or standing in a handstand, are introduced against the background of conditional and coordinative requirements and reflected on with regard to their implementation with different target groups.
In the "Moving in water - swimming" course, you will expand and deepen your movement experience in the element of water. You will acquire basic knowledge, skills and abilities for self-realisation in swimming, diving and water jumping. You will also improve your ability to reflect on fundamental questions of appropriate didactic and methodological teaching of swimming, taking into account beginners' swimming with regard to different target groups and different performance levels in school sport and in extracurricular educational settings.
In the course "Athletics - running, jumping, throwing", various disciplines such as sprinting, high jump and long jump, javelin throw, shot put, spin throw and rotary throw are covered. In this context, modern teaching and learning methods are taught against the background of methodological and didactic measures. Organisational, set-up and social forms are also shown. In addition, the proper handling of teaching materials and various safety measures are discussed. In addition, pedagogically oriented forms of games, tutorials (in connection with lecture/seminar) and competitions are presented, which characterise modern physical education beyond the maxim of higher, faster, further.
Based on various didactic concepts of teaching, "Gymnastics - Moving on and with Equipment" is thematised on the one hand as a compositional-aesthetic individual sport, in which the central focus is on learning standardised movement elements and combinations. On the other hand, gymnastics is also treated as a field of movement that opens up an individual approach to equipment or combinations of equipment as well as various opportunities for partner and group gymnastics. Particular emphasis is placed on teaching appropriate forms of helping and securing.
In the "Secondary school games" course (games and play), you will learn exemplary didactic methods based on an integrated approach, such as how throwing, target shooting and rebounding games can be taught in their various forms in heterogeneous groups. Both skill-orientated and ability-orientated didactic-methodical concepts are included.
Depending on the student's choice, the following content will be addressed in a further course:
In the "Gestalten, Tanzen, Darstellen II" course, you will study selected dance styles from different eras and the social contexts in which they are embedded. The content also includes specific dance techniques (e.g. positions, isolation techniques, turns, jumps, falls), which form the basis for in-depth creative work in dance improvisation and composition in individual, couple and group designs.
In the "Health-oriented practice" course, you will acquire exemplary skills and abilities for self-realisation in health-related movement activities (e.g. "Strength training", "Tai Chi" or "Health-oriented movement activities in water") and expand your didactic and methodological knowledge for teaching them.
The main focus of the "Wrestling and Fighting" courses is on technical and tactical elements of various martial arts, such as judo, wrestling, karate, taekwondo and various self-defence systems. Further content includes specific forms of games and exercises to methodically introduce and train physical and coordination skills. There are also various types of meditation and regeneration. This is accompanied by an examination of the above content from a pedagogical and didactic-methodological perspective.
In the "Games and Play" section, you will choose a sport-specific course from the areas of throwing, target shooting or rebound games. Based on the latest game didactic approaches, both skill-orientated and ability-orientated methodological approaches for the school and extracurricular context will be discussed in the relevant course. The focus is on game-orientated concepts for teaching sports games.
In the course "Introduction to Psychomotor Support - Focus on Inclusive Physical Education" you will deal with the question of the extent to which psychomotor movement education can contribute to the development of children and young people and for which groups it is particularly suitable in a close combination of theory and practice. At the centre of this is the aim of enabling the recipients of psychomotor support to have personal, material and social experiences in the medium of movement or movement play, through which they can expand their general competence to act. Against this background, as a course participant you will try out various didactic and methodological concepts in psychomotor activity situations and reflect on these against the background of selected theoretical principles with regard to different target groups and fields of application. The focus here is particularly on heterogeneous conditions in the context of inclusion and the possibilities of designing inclusive educational settings in general and physical education in particular.
The course "Teaching-related skills" (VebeKo) is intended for the in-depth content-related teaching and organisational implementation of the practical teaching examinations. It builds on scientific and didactic content from basic and in-depth courses as well as the seminar "Planning and Evaluating Physical Education" and uses exemplary content from the module in its dual function as a mediation and examination venue to specifically focus on the acquisition and examination of the central mediation competence, which is part of the competences to be acquired in all courses.

Notes on course and examination selection
Reasons for the necessity of several module examinations
In the seminars, didactic-methodological and movement-theoretical aspects of the respective sport and movement field are taught in an integrative manner and the sport-specific performance and technique are also trained. For technical and organisational reasons, a separate examination of the individual aspects of competence acquisition (motor skills, teaching skills, subject-specific knowledge) is necessary in the sport and movement fields. For this purpose, exemplary practical and teaching competences are tested for one sport and movement field each. The number of individual examinations in the theoretical area results from the high degree of event-related specificity of knowledge about movement and its teaching and the non-transferable application contexts. This is met by individual short examinations for the respective events.
