Competencies

You will deepen your practical work experience in an organisation in your chosen professional field and acquire skills in the implementation of your theoretical knowledge in concrete work practice. As part of a preparatory and follow-up accompanying event, you will exchange ideas with other students and thus gain further insights into the broad spectrum of the professional field relevant to your study profile.
You will prove that you have acquired the competence to apply your previous theoretical knowledge in the context of concrete work practice by critically reflecting on your specific findings and experiences with the respective internship provider and professional field in the form of a written report.

Content of teaching

The aim of the internship is to give you an insight into the respective working methods of an organisation involved in "sport", with the main focus on management and organisational development. In consultation with the organiser, you will normally complete the block work placement at an organisation from one of the following fields of activity: "sports clubs, associations, administration", "other sports providers", "education", "industry and commerce", "media", "sponsorship, marketing", "tourism", "event organisation", "fitness and leisure", "healthcare", "exercise and sports therapy", "sports prosthetics or ergonomics", "occupational health management" or "sports psychology consulting".
However, the final choice of a specific organisation is always made after consultation with the Department of Sports Science. The internship is accompanied by preparatory and follow-up events.

Recommended previous knowledge

Completion of the course "Orientierende Berufsfeldstudien" of module 61-PW-WAM is recommended.
