For information on the duration of the modul, refer to the courses of study in which the module is used.
You will acquire methodological expertise in dealing with computer-aided statistical data analysis and experimental approaches in order to be able to use them adequately in the project seminar and your Bachelor's thesis. You will be able to apply individual technologies of sports psychology intervention in specific situations and test their effectiveness. This will enable you to evaluate and assess concepts for target group-specific counselling and sports psychology support.
You will demonstrate the acquisition of these competences by deepening a selected topic in a seminar paper. This should be based on preliminary work carried out as part of the project seminar, e.g. in the form of a paper, a presentation or a practical experiment.
In the course "Introduction to Data Analysis" you will be introduced to the functionalities and possibilities of computer-aided data analysis tools (preferably SPSS or R). In addition to the preparatory steps (e.g. data transformation/variable generation), you will learn how to apply and interpret descriptive statistics and simple inferential statistics methods (e.g. Chi², correlation, simple linear regression, t-test, one/two-factorial analysis of variance, analysis of variance with repeated measures) using sample data sets.
In the project seminar "Technology and Sports Psychology", you will apply selected psychological intervention methods in individual sport-specific/sport-practical settings, advise athletes in practice, for example, and check the effects of the measures using biophysical or psychological diagnostic methods (e.g. biofeedback methods, anxiety inventories, eye tracking, temporal or visual occlusion methods). The aim of the course is to learn how to safely handle technical instruments that can be used in the field of sports psychology research and support. To this end, you will carry out an investigation (in a small group) using the diagnostic procedures presented, analyse them and classify the results within a theoretical framework. Finally, you will write up your methodological approach and the results in a seminar paper.
Simultaneous attendance of the courses of module 61-P-VP "Specialisation in Sports Psychology" is recommended.
