Competencies

The master thesis provides students with the opportunity to investigate a scientific problem and to develop an appropriate approach independently. Students learn how to find and organize relevant literature and gain an overview of the state of the art regarding their chosen research topic. They gain skills necessary for the planning, implementation and evaluation of experiments as well as documenting results in line with scientific practice.

Content of teaching

A scientific paper or study is carried out largely independently on a topic from the field of Intelligent Interactive Systems jointly agreed upon between the student and the supervisor. The student carries out a scientific paper or study in the area of Intelligent Interactive Systems largely independently. The results are summarised in a written report. This report should be oriented towards the conventions for scientific publications from computer science. It should be structured e.g. as follows: Summary, introduction, state-of-the-art methods/approach, possibly implementation and architecture, experiments and results, discussion, and outlook. The results of the Master's thesis should be presented (e.g. in the context of a working group seminar or colloquium) and then discussed.

Recommended previous knowledge

It is recommended that students have completed all modules intended for the first and second semester.

Necessary requirements

Explanation regarding the elements of the module
