Die Studierenden lernen, ein Problem im Bereich der naturwissenschaftlichen Informatik selbständig zu formalisieren und eine algorithmische Lösung dafür zu entwickeln. Sie lernen im Rahmen einer praktischen Umsetzung, wie ein entsprechendes Projekt koordiniert und evaluiert werden kann, sowie eine geeignete Dokumentation aussehen kann. Dabei kann es sich, je nach Aufgabenstellung, um ein rein theoretisches, oder am Rechner oder im Labor zu lösendes Projekt handeln.
Students learn to formalize a problem in the field of informatics in the natural sciences and to find a algorithmic solution. They learn how to evaluate and coordinate a project and how a suitable documentation looks like. The task can be about a theoretical project or a project that can be done at the computer or into a laboratory.
Im Zentrum steht eine konkrete Fragestellung aus der naturwissesnchaftlichen Informatik, die die Studierenden zusammen mit dem/der Betreuenden vereinbart. Das Projekt wird von den Studierdenden weitgehend selbständig durchgeführt und das Ergebnis vorgestellt. Den Abschluss bildet eine Dokumentation des Projektverlaufs und der Ergebnisse.
The project is about a concrete problem in the field of informatics in the natural sciences, which the students will arrange together with the supervisor. The project will be conducted widely autonomous and the result will be presented. Finally a documentation about the project and the result completes the project.

Projekt mit Ausarbeitung gemäß den Anforderungen des gewählten Projektes. Die Ausarbeitung hat in der Regel einen Umfang von 8-16 Seiten in gut lesbarer Form.
Project and a written report. The layout of the report depends on the actual project and should be about 8 - 16 pages.
Bei diesem Modul handelt es sich um ein eingestelltes Angebot. Dieses Modul richtet sich nur noch an Studierende, die nach einer der nachfolgend angegebenen FsB Versionen studieren. Ein entsprechendes Angebot, um dieses Modul abzuschließen, wurde bis maximal Sommersemester 2018 vorgehalten. Genaue Regelungen zum Geltungsbereich s. jeweils aktuellste FsB-Fassung.
