Competencies

Mit der erfolgreichen Teilnahme am Praktikum erlernen die Studierenden moderne Methoden und experimentelle Strategien der Zellbiochemie. Sie entwickeln die Fähigkeit, Strategien zur Untersuchung und Manipulation von biochemischen Prozessen in der Zelle und von zellulärer Kommunikation zu analysieren und zu entwickeln.

Content of teaching

Im Praktikum werden moderne Methoden der Zellbiochemie vermittelt, wobei Bezug auf aktuelle Forschungsthemen genommen wird. Zur Vorbereitung sind Literaturrecherchen und Einarbeitung in Orginalveröffentlichungen notwendig. Zum Methodenspektrum gehören in vitro Transkription und Translation, Fluoreszenzmikroskopie, Signaltransduktion an der Zelloberfläche. Arbeiten mit Säuger-Zellkulturen einschließlich Isolierung und Kultivierung primärer Zellen werden durchgeführt. Als weiteres Modellsystem wird Bäckerhefe eingesetzt. In einem Seminarvortrag stellen die Studierenden eine Orginalarbeit vor.

Um dem experimentellen Charakter des Moduls gerecht zu werden, wird ein Portfolio aus Versuchen erstellt. Ein Versuch besteht aus:

  • Überprüfung der Vorkenntnisse inklusive sicherheitsrelevanter Aspekte (Antestat)
  • Versuchsdurchführung und Protokollierung von Beobachtungen und Ergebnissen
  • Anfertigen eines schriftlichen Versuchsprotokolls
  • Gespräch über das Versuchsprotokoll (Abtestat)
