Competencies

In this module, you will acquire basic skills for instructing and designing standardised and non-standardised sports in the field of outdoor sports as well as in the field of recreational and health sports or - optionally - in the field of wrestling and fighting. You will expand your own experience of movement and learn to assess movement science theories and models with regard to their practical suitability.
On the other hand, you will acquire subject-specific skills in accordance with the level-specific mandate of the upper secondary school, which will enable you to offer sport in accordance with the scientific-propaedeutic mandate of the upper secondary school.

You can choose to take either a practical or a practical teaching examination in one of the seminars "Specialised courses in secondary level II"
In the practical teaching examination, you demonstrate in-depth competences in the area of "teaching" in an exemplary course of the module.
In the practical examination, you will demonstrate in-depth competences in the area of "sports motor skills" in an exemplary course of the module.

The theory examination on the competence area "Theoretical, subject-specific and methodological-didactic knowledge of movement" is taken as an example in a course not selected for the practical sports examination.

Content of teaching

In a seminar from the field of outdoor sports (e.g. "rowing", "canoeing", "sailing", "surfing", "skiing and snowboarding"," cycling" or "mountain hiking"), the special experiential educational possibilities of this field of activity are thematised.

As an example, you will acquire skills and abilities for self-realisation in health-relevant movement activities (e.g. "strength training" or "Tai Chi") and expand your didactic and methodological knowledge for teaching them.

Optionally, in the area of "Wrestling and Fighting", you will acquire the didactic and methodological basics of teaching fighting with and against each other as well as self-defence and/or expand your experience and skills in a selected martial art (e.g. judo or kickboxing).

In the seminars "Specialisation courses for secondary level II", you will deepen your didactic and methodological knowledge of teaching two selected fields of movement against the background of the special requirements of physical education in the upper secondary school, whereby the various forms of theory-practice links are of particular importance.

Explanation regarding the elements of the module

Notes on course and examination selection:
In this module, either the practical teaching examination or the practical examination in one of the seminars "Specialisation courses Sek. II" must be taken.
No coursework is to be completed in the course in which the practical sports examination is taken.

Cross-module regulations:
For students according to FsB of 15/05/2017 applies:
The practical sports examinations of the modules DM-1, DM-2 and DM-3 are to be chosen from different areas.
The compulsory elective courses of the modules HRSGe_GymGe-DM-2 and GymGe-DM-3 must be chosen from different areas.
For students after FsB from 03.05.2023 applies:
The practical sports examinations of modules DM-1 and DM-3 are to be chosen from different areas.
The compulsory elective courses of modules 61-GymGe-DM-1 and 61-GymGe-DM-3 must be selected from different areas.
The areas are as follows:
01 Body awareness and psychomotor skills
02 Playing and games
03 Running, jumping, throwing - athletics
04 Movement in the water - swimming
05 Movement on and with equipment - gymnastics
06 Designing, dancing, performing - gymnastics/dance
07 Training in school sports
08 Wrestling and fighting
09 Natural sports / gliding, travelling, rolling
10 Health-orientated practice/ fitness sports
In the areas of "Health-orientated practice", "Wrestling and fighting" and "Natural sports", it is not possible to take an examination in all compulsory elective courses.

Reasons for the necessity of two module examinations:
In the seminars, didactic-methodological and movement-theoretical aspects of the respective sport and movement field are taught in an integrative manner and sport-specific performance and technique are also trained. For technical and organisational reasons, a separate examination of the individual aspects of competence acquisition (motor skills, teaching skills, subject-specific knowledge) is necessary in the sport and movement fields.

Teaching staff of the course Practical course in didactics and methodology of sport and movement fields: Specialisation course 1 Sek. II (seminar)

An academic achievement is a task that is performed for practice purposes. In a practical course, such tasks are the demonstration of practical sports performance and the instruction of sports groups on a smaller scale (approx. 10 to 20 minutes). In addition, the preparation of minutes of a meeting or an abstract of a short text of no more than 1200 words etc. may be required.
Practical sporting achievements include special techniques and skills as well as safety-relevant knowledge (e.g. assisting and assisting holds, setting up and securing equipment arrangements in accordance with current safety regulations, rescue techniques). These are practised in each of the sessions as part of the coursework to be completed. The skills acquired in this area are therefore assessed in each session. They cannot be learnt through self-study alone, or only with considerable restrictions. In this respect, if more than 20% of the sessions are missed, the practical sports performance, including the special techniques and skills as well as the safety-relevant knowledge, cannot be practised. Deviation from this 20% rule is only possible for important reasons and requires clarification in a personal discussion with the respective teaching staff.
