Competencies

Die hier erworbenen Grundkenntnisse in Neuro-und Verhaltensbiologie ermöglichen den Studierenden, sich in ihrem weiteren Studium auch komplexere biologische Zusammenhänge zu erschließen, Originalveröffentlichungen zu verstehen, und damit eine solide Grundlage für die Modellierung biologischer Phänomene zu schaffen.

Content of teaching

Die Veranstaltung bietet einen Überblick über die wesentlichen Aspekte der Neuro- und Verhaltensbiologie. Im Vorlesungsteil wird ein Bogen gespannt von den Grundlagen der Funktion des Gehirns über die neuronale Kontrolle einfacher Verhaltensweisen zur Beschreibung der Mechanismen komplexer Verhaltensweisen und ihrer Bedeutung für den Fortpflanzungserfolg der Tiere. Im Übungsteil werden zu geeigneten Themen Aufgaben gerechnet, einfache Experimente durchgeführt oder ergänzendes Filmmaterial gezeigt.
