Befähigung selbstständig eine relevante geschichtswissenschaftliche Forschungsarbeit zu Themen an der Schnittstelle zwischen universitärer historischer Forschung und Öffentlichkeit auf der Grundlage der relevanten Quellen und der aktuellen Forschungsliteratur zu konzipieren

Content of teaching

Das Forschungsmodul unterstützt die Studierenden bei der Vorbereitung und Abfassung ihrer Masterarbeit im Profil "Geschichtskulturen". Aus den verfügbaren Modulangeboten (Masterseminar und dazugehörige Historische Kontextualisierung) wählen die Studierenden das Angebot, das die größtmögliche thematische Nähe zur Masterarbeit aufweist.
Im Seminar werden historische Phänomene in einem exemplarischen Zugriff problemorientiert und forschungsnah behandelt. Die Seminarthemen können einen hohen Grad von Spezialisierung aufweisen. Ziel ist eine in ihrer Komplexität angemessene Rekonstruktion und Interpretation historischer Zusammenhänge anhand einschlägiger Quellen und relevanter Forschungsliteratur.
Die Historische Kontextualisierung vermittelt vertieftes, problem- und forschungsorientiertes Wissen zum Thema des Seminars. Die Veranstaltung bettet Themen und Fragestellungen des Seminars auf der Grundlage des aktuellen Forschungsstands in einen breiten historischen Kontext ein.
