Competencies

Die Studierenden werden in dem gewählten Gebiet soweit wie möglich an die aktuelle Forschung herangeführt. Weitere Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten und Forschungsziele werden ihnen deutlich. Sie sollen zwischen Fragen von zentralem Interesse und unwesentlicheren Problemen für die jeweilige Theorie und ihre Anwendungen unterscheiden, die Klarheit und Eleganz der Darstellung eines mathematischen Sachverhaltes würdigen können. Sie werden fachlich und methodisch in der Lage sein, im Anschluss eine fachmathematische Masterarbeit zu verfassen.

Content of teaching

Die Veranstaltungen dieses Moduls führen methodisch und inhaltlich zu aktuellen Forschungsfragen hin. Als Themengebiete kommen z.B. Stochastische Analysis/Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie oder Numerik partieller Differentialgleichungen in Frage. Dieses Modul bereitet das Mastermodul vor. Aus dem gewählten Themengebiet kann sich eine fachwissenschaftliche Masterarbeit entwickeln.

Vorkenntnisse aus für das gewählte Themengebiet relevanten Bachelor- und Mastermodulen.
