Studying art in Bielefeld is characterized by the continuous linking of the areas of art practice, art studies, art education and art didactics. In the practical part of the course, students gain insights into artistic thinking and action. To this end, the handling of different artistic media is tested in studio work. In art studies, the focus is on the examination of artistic positions and current specialist discourses. The subject of the art education and art didactics components of the course is the development of an individual art education approach and mediation skills on the basis of practical art experience, academic knowledge and subject-specific didactic concepts.
