Linguistics

FsB vom 21.05.2021

In linguistics we scientifically investigate language from different perspectives. We are not limited to a specific language but analyze and compare different languages and their underlying mechanisms. The teaching and research at Bielefeld covers areas such as grammar, phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics, as well as discourse and communication analysis, computational linguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics and clinical linguistics. The programme provides qualification for an academic career in research and teaching, and also opens up opportunities in various professional fields, such as intercultural communication, media and journalism, technical documentation, text and speech technology, public relations, corporate communication, human-machine interaction, or language education.
