A Spanish degree programme at Bielefeld provides students with in-depth knowledge in the fields of literature, cultural and media studies as well as linguistics and history. The academic interest is not limited to Spain, but also includes the language, cultures and literatures of Latin America in research and teaching. The aim is to enable students to independently and academically reflect on Spanish-language texts and cultures, to give them a deeper understanding of current issues of intercultural coexistence in modern societies and thus qualify them for an appointment in an international cultural environment, for example.
