Cung Lian Sang is a postdoctoral researcher at CITEC, Bielefeld University, Germany. He is originally from Myanmar, where he was born in Falam and grew up in Hakha, Chin State. After completing the university entrance examination, he pursued his studies at Mandalay Technological University (MTU) in Mandalay.
He received his Dr.-Ing. degree from Bielefeld University in 2022 with a doctoral thesis entitled "Bidirectional UWB Localisation with Rigorous Sectoral Evaluations." He also holds an M.Sc. degree in Radar and Radio Technology from MPEI, Russian Federation. His academic background includes a B.E. degree (2006) and a M.E. degree (2008) in Electronic Engineering from MTU, Myanmar.
His research interests include indoor and outdoor localisation, autonomous driving, sensor fusion, and positioning-oriented future networks (5G and beyond).
