Curriculum Vitae

Born in 1959.

Attended Oberstufenkolleg [high school college] (German, Art and Art History) in Bielefeld.
Studied German Language and Literature and History at Bielefeld University.

Trained as a drama director with the AG Darstellendes Spiel OWL; undertook further training with, amongst others, Katya Delakova, Simon Edwards and Marian Masoliver. Involved in various theatre projects and independent theatre groups.

Since 1993, a temporary lecturer at the Faculty of Linguistics and Literary Studies, specialising in the history, theory and practice of theatre education and drama in schools and independent cultural work.
From 1997 to 2025, worked full-time in cultural education as an education officer at the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft (LAG) Spiel und Theater NRW. Responsible for the design and delivery of the basic training programme in theatre education and for managing the ‘manufactur’ theatre in Herford.

From 2007 to 2025, he was a member of the Executive Board of the Federal Working Group for Play and Theatre, most recently as its Chair. From 2020 to 2025, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Youth Theatre Festival at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.
