Prof. Dr. med. Hendrik Bracht

Prof. Dr. Hendrik Bracht, Professor of Interdisciplinary Intensive Care Medicine at EVKB Bielefeld; Campus OWL, is an intensivist and Antibiotic Stewardship (ABS) expert. His research focuses on antibiotic therapy in intensive care units as well as new methods for rapid diagnostics of severe infections. He currently serves as the head of the "Infection" section of the European Society for Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM).
Since 2014, Prof. Bracht has been the secretary of the scientific working group on intensive care medicine and is directly involved in scientific and professional developments in the field of intensive care. He is also the deputy spokesperson for the Translational Intensive Care Research Network on Organ Failure, TIFOnet.
Since 2024, he has been the deputy clinical director of the University Clinic for Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Transfusion Medicine, and Pain Therapy at the Evangelical Hospital Bethel in Bielefeld.
