  • Since June 2024: Professor of Methods of Empirical Social Research with a focus on qualitative methods at the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University (DFG Heisenberg Professorship)
  • December 2023 - January 2024: Research stay at the School of Welfare at the University of California in Berkeley, USA
  • September 2019 - May 2024: Research assistant for teaching (methods of qualitative social research) at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg
  • April 2006 - August 2019: Research Assistant (Sociology/Methods of Qualitative Social Research) at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Duisburg-Essen (C. Ullrich). Leaves of absence for stays abroad and professorships:
  • April 2016 - September 2016: Substitute professor for methods of empirical social research with a focus on qualitative methods at the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University.
  • October 2014 - March 2016: Substitute Professor of Sociology, in particular Microsociology at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg

  • Advice to the advisory board of the "Living well in Germany" project of the German Federal Government (Federal Chancellery 2015)
