Current research topics

As part of my doctoral thesis (TH OWL and PK NRW), I am investigating how AI-based learning technologies can be successfully integrated into teaching/learning processes in higher education. In doing so, I focus on participation opportunities that generative AI could open up for Lehren und Lernen [Centre for teaching and learning]. The use and handling of LLM-based chatbots in teaching is just one possible setting that I am currently researching. In this context, I have been giving prompt engineering workshops for teachers and other university staff since 2023.

As part of my scientific work at Bielefeld University, I am investigating the question of how inclusion-sensitive (digital) educational materials are that teachers use in their lessons on a daily basis and how these can be adapted with the support of generative AI.
