392181 Ancestral reconstruction of MtDNA genomes (Pj) (WiSe 2016/2017)

Contents, comment

RINGO is a software that is used for ancestral reconstruction of gene orders. Here, we will use the snakemake workflow management system to develop scripts that will help users to quickly use genome data from NCBI, in the form of genbank flatfiles, to generate all the files needed for RINGO to perform the ancestral reconstruction for the input genomes, with varying parameters and input types. The focus is to use MtDNA genomes, that have a very conserved set of genes, but this approach could be easily extended to any type of genomes.
