Nicht nur die Mensch-Mensch-Beziehung und die Mensch-Umwelt-Beziehung prägen den Menschen in seiner Entwicklung, auch die Mensch-Tier-Beziehung stellt einen bedeutsamen Faktor dar. Auf letzteren wird innerhalb des Pädagogikstudiums so gut wie gar nicht eingegangen, obwohl sie tagtäglich stattfindet. Dieses Seminar möchte versuchen, die Lücke im Lehrangebot diesbezüglich etwas zu verringern. Es soll ein Bewusstsein für die Relevanz des menschlichen Umgangs mit anderen Lebewesen geschaffen werden und die Auseinandersetzung mit der Frage gefördert werden, welches Menschenbild der vorherrschende Umgang des Menschen mit Tieren unterstützt und welche Auswirkungen dies auf Denken, Fühlen und Verhalten heranwachsender Menschen haben kann. Speziell soll auf die Auswirkungen des Umgangs mit Tieren auf die Moralentwicklung, Gewaltbereitschaft und Selbstwahrnehmung in Kindheit, Jugend und Erwachsenenalter eingegangen werden.
