Die Vorlesung "Gene und Genome" beschäftigt sich mit molekularbiologischen Fragestellungen und deren Lösungen sowohl in Bezug auf die Analyse einzelner prokaryotischer Gene als auch im Gesamtkontext ganzer Gene. So werden z.B. Gene aus dem Zentralstoffwechselm dem Sekundärstoffwechsel sowie Resistenzgene vorgestellt und gentechnische Veränderungen in Bezug auf Struktur und Funktion analysiert. Darüberhinaus werden verschiedene Genomprojekte vorgestellt. Die Vorlesung ist von einem Übungsteil begleitet. Zur Leistungskontrolle wird eine Klausur angeboten.
