The objectives of this seminar are twofold:
First, you will have the opportunity to practice or make first experiences in empirical research. These will be valuable for your BA theses, but also for your praxissemester in the M.Ed.
Second, we will discuss various aspects of English as a non-native and learner language. This area provides plenty of opportunity to investigate grammatical, phonetic, and phonological variation, (crosscultural) pragmatics, error correction (other and self), language attitude, etc.

Reading, preparation, and presentation of selected texts as part of the preparation of research projects.
All students will conduct empirical research projects on English as a foreign or learner language. The research projects will involve autonomous research, data elicitation, description, analysis, and presentation in class.
Active participation in classroom discourse and contribution to constructive peer feedback are obligatory.
