Die Fähigkeit, naturwissenschaftliche Inhalte für eine breite Öffentlichkeit aufzubereiten ist für Biologen und Umweltwissenschaftler in vielen Arbeitsbereichen wichtig. Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und Journalismus sind auch mögliche Berufsfelder. Der Kurs stellt Wege in diese Kommunikationsberufe vor und hilft, kommunikative Aufgaben in wissenschaftsnahen Tätigkeitsbereichen zu bewältigen.
Der Hauptteil der Veranstaltung ist praktisch ausgerichtet und wird von Michael Blaschke betreut. Er ist Biologe und in der Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit sowie seit über 20 Jahren als Journalist für den WDR tätig. Im Kurs wird anhand vieler praktischer Übungen gezeigt, wie Themen gewählt und gesetzt, recherchiert, und in geeigneten Textsorten für unterschiedliche Medien dargestellt werden können. Ziel ist es, einen Text für ein Beispielprojekt aus der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit zu schreiben. Das Arbeitsergebnis ist auch die Studienleistung.
Der Kurs findet als Blockveranstaltung an 5 Terminen im März statt. Zusätzlich zu den vier angebenen Terminen findet am 10.3. von 14-16 Uhr eine Führung im WDR-Studio Bielefeld statt.
