752034 London interdisziplinär: Geschichte, Theater und Kunst im Kontext der Weltstadt (BS+Ex) (SoSe 2026)

Die britische Hauptstadt London zählt zu den bedeutendsten Metropolen der Welt. Kaum eine andere Stadt vereint auf so engem Raum eine über zweitausendjährige Geschichte mit einer derart lebendigen Gegenwartskultur. Das Blockseminar mit Exkursion widmet sich der historischen Entwicklung, kulturellen Vielfalt und künstlerischen Bedeutung Londons.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen zentrale historische und kulturelle Orte wie der Tower of London als Symbol königlicher Macht, der Palace of Westminster als politisches Zentrum Großbritanniens sowie die Westminster Abbey als Ort nationaler Erinnerungskultur. Darüber hinaus werfen wir einen Blick auf die Sammlungen größerer und auch kleinerer Museen, wie die Tate Britain, die National Gallary und die National Portrait Gallary aber auch auf die Wallace Collection oder das Sir John Soane’s Museum. Im Theater begeben wir uns auf die Spuren von William Shakespeare und tauchen ein in die moderne Theaterlandschaft.
Das genaue Programm der Exkursion legen wir gemeinsam in den Vorbereitungstreffen fest.
Die Exkursion findet um den 25.06. – 29.06.2026 statt. Die Kosten betragen ca. 750 - 800 Euro. Es handelt sich hier um eine selbstorganisierte Exkursion.
