The determination of protein homologies from the given amino acid sequence alone has been a long-standing aim in bioinformatics. The scope of this project is to develop and implement methods for the memory- and time-efficient large-scale clustering of protein sequences. The results shall further be evaluated and integrated in the corynebacterial reference database CoryneRegNet. A second topic of this project is the evaluation and the review of other gene regulatory databases that are available on the WWW.
