Die These, dass Individuen nicht als Männer und Frauen geboren, sondern 'gemacht' werden, bildet den gemeinsamen Ausgangspunkt von Theorien zur geschlechtspezifischen Sozialisation, die sich in Bezug auf die gesellschaftlichen Orte und die Praktiken der 'Herstellung' von Männlichkeit und Weiblichkeit voneinander unterscheiden. Im Rahmen des Seminars sollen in Bezug auf klassische Texte und neuere Beiträge zu diesem Thema verschiedene Konzepte zur geschlechtsspezifischen Sozialisation erarbeitet, am Beispiel unterschiedlicher Praxisfelder konkretisiert und mit Blick auf den gesellschaftlichen Wandel von Geschlechterverhältnissen und Männlichkeits- und Weiblichkeitsbildern diskutiert werden.
