Dieser Kurs stellt eine Reihe wesentlicher Grundbegriffe der Flucht- und Migrationsforschung vor und diskutiert diese anhand von aktuellen Forschungsbeiträgen. Ziel ist es bestimmte rechtlich-politische und diskursive Zuschreibungen sowie ethnisierende und homogenisierende Kategorien zu hinterfragen. Neben einer sozialwissenschaftlichen Einführung in Flucht- und Migrationsprozesse aus globaler Perspektive stehen gesellschaftliche Auseinandersetzungen und Verhandlungen über definitorische Deutungshoheiten im Zentrum des Kurses, der sich vor allem an StudienbeginnerInnen richtet.

Da wir eine Reihe englischsprachiger Texte lesen und diskutieren werden, sind gute Englischkenntnisse Voraussetzung für die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an diesem Kurs.
