230173 Zwischen den Gattungen: Die Ballade (S) (WiSe 2024/2025)

Die Ballade steht zwischen den Gattungen. Als erzählende, kurze Textform in Versen, mit wiederholendem Refrain auf den Vortrag ausgerichtet, lässt sie sich nicht so einfach den goethe'schen Großgattungen Epik, Lyrik oder Drama zuordnen. Carl Spitteler geht die Sache 1896 praktisch an: „Ich frage einfach: Wer schreibt und wer schrieb von jeher Balladen? Die Literaturgeschichte antwortet: Der Lyriker. Daraus ziehe ich den Schluss, dass die Ballade zur lyrischen Poesie gezählt werden muss.“

Bei dem Seminar handelt es sich um ein Lektüreseminar zu dieser Schwellengattung. Ein Reader mit den zu behandelnden Texten wird zu Beginn des Seminars zur Verfügung gestellt.
