Globalisierung, Internationalisierung, Migration verändern die Welt.
Welche Auswirkungen haben diese Phänomene auf das (kulturelle)
Selbstverständnis der Individuen? Das nationale Verständnis von Kultur,
das seit dem 19. Jahrhundert in Europa und in vielen Regionen der Welt
als dominantes Konzept fungiert, erweist sich zunehmend als überholt.
Durch die massenhaften Bewegungen von Menschen und Waren entstehen
transnationale Räume, in denen sich Kultur noch weniger als zuvor als
homogenes Gebilde innerhalb eines nationalen Containers verstehen lässt.
Doch für die Benennung dessen was entsteht, was Individuen
fragmentarisch mit anderen teilen, fehlen u.U. sprachliche Begriffe, die
sich nicht an nationalen Grenzen orientieren. „Ich habe drei Kulturen“ –
sagt die Performance Künstlerin Nezaket Ekici. „Drei?“ – „Ja, Deutsch,
türkisch und international.“ (Dogramaci 2013) Im Seminar werden die
Konzepte der Transkultur auf der theoretischen Ebene und als
Praxiserfahrung anhand der ausgewählten Texte und Filme angeschaut und
diskutiert. Die Ergebnisse der empirischen Studien (u.a. Hepp et al.,
Robins/Aksoy, Metykova) werden mit den theoretischen Ansätzen (u.a.
Bhabha, Canclini) in Verbindung gebracht und die Konzepte des „dritten
Raums“, der „Hybridität“ und des „Dazwischen“ kritisch ausgewertet.
Biografische Narrative in Form von Texten und filmischen Darstellungen
ermöglichen dabei einen tieferen Einblick in die gelebte Transkultur.
