In this seminar, we will discuss the main concepts of forced displacement to learn how the labels we give to people on the move affect what they have access to. We will also analyze the history of forced migration in Latin America, the legal frameworks and regional bodies that have been developed in the region, and discuss the root causes of the main forced migration flows in the region today (Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, Haitians, Cubans, Ecuadorians) and the national responses to these flows in the Americas.
